AIKEN AREA GOLF COURSE COMMUNITIES

From friendly, laid back golf course neighborhoods to highly structured gated communities with all the amenities, this area with its southern charm has something for every taste and budget. Homes are available in golf course communities from under $100,000 to over $1,000,000 with the majority in the range from $175,000 to $600,000.

GOLFING OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to the opportunity to belong to one of the many clubs in the area, there are also a number of opportunities to play other courses in various organization. For seniors (55+) there are two organizations that play a tournament at a different course each month. Entry fees are low, averaging $25 including cart and the opportunity to win prizes. The format is modified stableford based on your handicap initially and then adjusted monthly once you have about 5 rounds in. These groups are the Aiken Seniors and the CSRA Seniors. Contact me if you want to know how to join these groups. Also, the SCGA (South Carolina Golf Association) holds several handicapped tournments each month at locations thruout the state, many in this area. There are 3 different age groups, under 40, 40-55 and 55+. Entry fee is usually $10 plus cart fee and again the opportunity to win prizes as well as play different courses. Women can play in these SCGA tournaments.

For women, there is also the CSRA Women's Golf Ass'n. They hold round robin tournaments at various courses in the area in Georgia and South Carolina. My wife can provide any details about those.
